Did another video for the Christmas update, hope you enjoy!

I have to thank you once again for the great video. I had a lot of fun watching it, and I hope you had fun at the event as well 😺

(1 edit)

Like a few others here am quite surprised this didn't get that much traction. The game has several funny moments and some interesting execution. I'm very curious to see where this goes given this is just a demo currently.

I do have a few notes though. As you can see near the end of my video I just got stuck and it wasn't made clear at all what was happening or if it was intentional or not. The stamina system works, but maybe make the cigarettes a bit more scarce as it feels like I have way too much near the end of the game.

The demon's dialogue was a highlight for me, would be cool for them to get some voice lines, and the robotic voice from the device could do with some subtitles as it took me a while to understand what it was saying which led to me getting a bit stuck at that part. May be worth keeping a small menu with current objectives that you can summon with tab or something just to keep track of what needs doing.

Overall it was a fun time, hope to see more from it and will happily make another video for that if/when the full version drops

I had a lot of fun watching the video, and I apologize for getting stuck so close to the end of the demo. What happened was that the hitbox of the tongue must have glitched, and the interaction icon simply didn't appear.

Regarding the cigarettes, you're right that you end up with too many near the end. We actually have a mechanic that I didn't explain: you can hold down the 'F' key which makes you smoke for longer, thus recovering more sanity.

We'll also work on making the tutorials easier to understand.

The Demcaont team truly appreciates your kind words about our project and your interest in following us on this journey. We'll see you at the next station.

Ah okay, I'm relieved that I didn't just miss something super obvious and it was just a bug!

Yes, I did realize very late of the holding F button. Maybe just a subtitle saying such when you pick up your first pack could be the best way to go about it?

Again, I'm happy to play this again when it's updated or the next version is released, feel free to just reply to me here and I'll make another video on it!

I can't believe this isn't as popular as I thought it was. I think once you get the right audience, this will blow up.

This game was so fun! And super interesting. I loved finding out what to do and the sanity system is very fun. I love the moon area. More of those would be cool it felt like a safe haven. The arcade area was super cool I loved traversing around the boss of the area. Seriously super cool. I would've thought this was a fully-developed game that's already out on Steam and has thousands of 5-star reviews. KEep at it! I can't wait to see what this becomes

Quick note: I got softlocked in the laundromat world. There is a little crevice a player can fit in right before entering the diner area. If you're exiting the diner, it will be on the left once you start seeing washing machines again. Just had to reset to get out.

I made an itch account just to comment, this game was that good

Thank you very much for your feedback, I’m really happy that you enjoyed and had fun with the game. We’re still going to work on this demo to make it more appealing and of course fix the bugs. Thanks again for playing NextStation.

I couldn't pick up the device after I ended up in the arcade, the icon didn't change no matter how I hovered over it

Thank you for your feedback. Even when crouching, did it still not show the option to pick up the device?

I don't think so

I dont know the ending because the demo was frozen after i beat the virus. but im still reviewing for what i played. Next Station is a detailed and lovely crafted surreal horror game demo that is a mix between backrooms, mascot and lsd simulator as i would say. Gameplay: you walk around and experience the story, theres some elemts of searching and exploring as hiding and most important smoking. it tries to change the gamplay up with a boss fight which is a little wonky i feel but appreciated. Sound: it featueres a great sound scape with a good mystery soundscape while also mixing it up in special moments throughout the story. sadly theres no voice acting for any characters or ourselves. visual: the game has a dreamy low poly look to it and espacially in the first "level" with the virus you have a interesting color palette that is very neon. interesting choices which fit the horror aethetic and give a 80s vibe. story: very hard to decipher but ill try. you start in a subway with your only clues as to what is going on being notes and npcs that talk to you. you travel trough worlds with a subwaystation and there seems to be an powerful entity, but i really dont know more. overall i liked the game very much with its erie but welcoming atmosphere, humour of npcs, detailed world and very interesting but cryptic story yet... so i give it a 9\10 and if the full game releases i would love to play trough it so see what its really about. and please with no freezing of course.

Thank you very much for your feedback; this is extra encouragement for the project's production. I will look into what might be causing the freezing.
